Sustainable Agriculture
We are a small scale farm looking for interns who want experiencs on a still-developing farm.  We grow mixed vegetables, a few small fruits, and our specialities are salad greens w/edible flowers, garlic basil dressing, and our ready-to-eat Stir Fry Mix and Dark Greens Blend.  Rainbow Salads, a new product just under development are colorful fermented vegetables individually layered in glass jars.
Upgrading our 1800 sq. ft. greenhouse will be a major focus this spring.  Interns can choose to docus on a specific aspect of production, or all aspects if you want the full experience.
We would also consider grooming someone for a Farm Manager position for the rest of the season (and beyond).  No stipend but we can provide food on a weekly basis.  A live-in situation is not desired, but we would consider it with the right dynamics.
Winlock is 45 minutes south of Olympia.

Environmental Stewardship
Winlock Meadows Farm, in its effort to respond to rapid industrial development in our rural community, would like to become an environmental monitoring farm.  Recently faced with a huge glass facotry a mile from our farm and the potential of expansion to a 950 acre heavy industrial park, (at the headwaters of the Olequa Creek that runs through our farm), we would like to monitor the environmental and social impacts.  Water, air, soil, light, noise, impacts on the rural community, benefits of jobs to cost of the environment, etc. will be monitored and published on our website.  We are looking for interns who would be interested in developing this project from the ground up.  We will obtain baseline readings before the glass factory begins production this summer.
